Jonas married Mary Williams Goddard June 17, 1832 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.⁽⁵⁶⁷⁹⁾ The Marriage was reported in the newspaper the Columbian Centinel June 20, 1832.

Mary was born September 20, 1809.⁽⁵⁶⁸⁰⁾ Mary⁽⁵⁶⁸¹⁾ was the daughter of Ebenezer Goddard and Susanna Charrel. Jonas was a member of Norfolk Guards in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts June 17, 1825.⁽⁵⁶⁹³⁾ "The Norfolk Guards with the Hingham Light Infantry and the Dorchester Riflemen did escort duty to General Lafayette from the residence of Governor Eustic in Roxbury to Charlestown, to the celebration of the laying of the corner stone of Bunker Hill Monument."
