1767. Charles Jerry11 Fillebrown (Charles Earl10, Charles Parker9, John Milton8, William Cheever7, Hon. Thomas6, John5, John4, Thomas3, Humpfrey2 Phillibrowne, Robert1 ffilebrowne) was born in Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma
January 26, 1936.(14876) Pauline Ferrill nee Allen
reported that "I remember Jerry's Uncle Lester had the car when your mom said 'it's time to go to the hospital', they called my house and
were told as we were at the movies -- (I think it was Shirley Temple)) but anyway as soon as we got home from the movie Lester got the word
to go immediately as they needed the car."
Jerry, Charles Earl Fillebrown's child, resided with Charles in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma circa 1936. Charles,
Ruth, and Jerry lived at 704 N. Xanthus. The house was purchased for approximately $5200. After moving in 1956 it was used as a rental
property. Jerry and Sue rented it in 1960. It was sold to Charles's in-laws in 1962 for its tax-depreciated value of $5500.

an Episcopalian at 20 years of age, November 24, 1956 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. His Sponsor was William Herman Akkerman;
soon to be his father-in-law. Bishop Hines; Diocese of Texas presided at the private ceremony. Jerry had decided to become an Episcopalian
several months after completing the Enquirer Classes and the minister that had conducted the classes had moved to another city. The new
priest would not sponsor Jerry because he had not taught the course. The Bishop, being a friend of the family, pointed out that the canons
did not require that a priest present a candidate for confirmation.
Jerry resided in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma January 1957. The address was 704 N. Xanthus. This was Jerry and Sue's first

as a Jr. Observer to do field work. He went to Clarksdale, Mississippi as Observer on a refraction seismic field crew. He returned to
Tulsa for a short time and then went to Mandan, North Dakota as Observer on a reflection seismic crew. The Mandan crew moved to Riverton,
Wyoming to work in conjunction with another crew. After a short time Jerry transferred to the second crew in Riverton. He spent a period
of time in Casper, Wyoming receiving interpretation training. In 1964 he went to Circleville, Ohio as Party Chief of a geophysical field
party including office personnel, recording crew, surveyors, and drillers. He left this company in 1968 when it appeared that the company
would continue to keep him in the field for several more years because of reduction of positions in the Home office.
When Jerry was age 23 and Jan Suzanne Akkerman was age 20 they became the parents of Dr. Pamela Renee Fillebrown MD
September 9, 1959 in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. She was born at St. John's Hospital.

home but Pam had been added to the family.
When Jerry was age 24 and Jan Suzanne Akkerman was age 21 they became the parents of Charles Christopher Fillebrown
October 1, 1960 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. Sue traveled to Houston to have Chris as Jerry and Sue were concerned about the
medical facilities in Elk City and the possibility that Jerry would be traveling without other family available. Jerry arrived in Houston
from Elk City about 2 hours after Chris was born. He was always irritated that his boss didn't let him leave work early in Elk City; if he
had Jerry would have been there for the birth. The birth took place at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital.

Jerry resided in Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma circa 1960/61. Jerry and his family first lived in a small house near
Broadway and Randall then they moved to 1414 W. Avenue B. The house on Randall was all that was available when they first arrived. It was
so rickety that many of the doors stuck. One time Sue's family came to visit and her Dad bumped the house as he backed his car to the front
door to load. After that the doors that were stuck opened freely and the remaining doors stuck. Jerry and Sue visited Elk City in 1994 and
the house on Randall had been torn down. Chris was born while the family lived there.
Jerry resided in Clarksdale, Coahoma County, Mississippi circa 1961. The address was 430 Catalpa.

and replaced. The area that was 31st street had been closed.
Jerry resided in Mandan, Burleigh County, North Dakota circa 1962. The family's home address was 210 1/2 9th Street NW. The
city was very crowded and the only place available was a basement apartment. Fortunately the stay was a short one. Laura was born while
the family lived in Mandan.

was still in place when Jerry revisited Woodsfield September 17, 1999. Jerry and Sue visited Woodsfield together in 2007 and drove past the
house and spent a couple of hours sightseeing in the town.
When Jerry was age 31 and Jan Suzanne Akkerman was age 27 they became the parents of William Scott Fillebrown February 8,
1967 in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. The birth took place in Warren because there wasn't a suitable hospital in Newton Falls which
was about 20 miles away. Scott had serious RH factor complications and was on the brink of a total blood transfer for several days. The
doctor was F.G. Guarneri.
Jerry resided in Newton Falls, Trumbull County, Ohio circa 1967. The address was 67 Bridge Street. The home was a large
2-story house located on the front of a business property. Jerry leased the building in the rear as an office and storage building for the
seismic crew he was managing at the time. Nearby was an historical covered bridge that Pam and Chris crossed every day to attend school.
The house and bridge were still in place in 1997 when Sue and Jerry revisited Newton Falls. Scott was born while the family lived in Newton
Falls.
Jerry resided in Garden City, Finney County, Kansas circa 1967. The Friday the family arrived in Garden City a tornado hit
town and did millions of dollars in damage. The family was not injured and suffered no damage. One week later, on Sunday morning, a major
thunderstorm hit the city and hail destroyed almost every roof in town. The family's car was totaled by the hail. The address was 504
North 10th.
Circa 1967, Jerry, an Episcopalian, was a member of the St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Garden City, Finney County, Kansas.
The church was located at Main and Walnut.
Jerry witnessed Margaret Sue Hoover's death December 25, 1967 in Bellaire, Harris County, Texas. She died unexpectedly
of a heart attack in the evening at Bellaire General Hospital after having had all of her children and their families with her for Christmas
for the first time in several years.
Jerry was employed at Shell Oil Company as Geophysicist in Houston, Harris County, Texas January 1968. Jerry was hired because
of his experience as an interpreter. Prior to his hiring Shell had hired people fresh from college. He was in Houston from 1968 until
1971 when he was transferred to London.

County, Texas. The confirmation took place at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Bishop Frederick Parry Goddard presided.
Jerry resided in Golders Green, Barnet Borough, Greater London, England, United Kingdom January 1971. The home was at 13
Dunstan Road in Golder's Green. The stay in London was due to Jerry's being seconded to the Royal Dutch Shell Company by Shell Oil for the
purpose of doing geophysical exploration in the North Sea. Jerry worked in One Shell Place on the Thames in Westminster. The family lived
there until July 1973. When Jerry left London he was Exploration Team Leader for the United Kingdom waters of the North Sea. Shell
intended to transfer Jerry to Calgary, Canada when he decided to resign and seek employment in the United States.
January 1971, Jerry, an Episcopalian, was a member of the St. Alban's in Golders Green, Barnet Borough, Greater London, England,
United Kingdom. The family attended this Parish throughout their stay in England.
Jerry traveled to the east coast of Spain February 1972. The family Jerry, Sue, Pam, Chris, Laura, and Scott traveled with Charles,
Jo, Melanie, Deidra, and Fred Drake. They flew from London to see some sun after a long winter.
A relative visited. Circa 1972 Richard "Dick" Carl Ferrill visited Charles Jerry Fillebrown and his wife Sue in London, England. Dick
was traveling through Ireland and Great Britain. Jerry and Dick are first cousins their common ancestors being their grandparents Arther
and Viola Ferrill.
Jerry traveled to Europe and Asia circa July 1972. The family Jerry, Sue, Pam, Chris, Laura, and Scott took a 47-day trip in a
Volkswagen bus/camper from London to Turkey and back. The route was from London to Paris, France by hovercraft over the English channel,
from Paris to Geneva, Switzerland, from Geneva to Nice, France, from Nice to Geneva, Milan, Venice, Florence, Firenze, Pisa, Rome, Naples

Jerry resided in Richardson, Dallas County, Texas circa 1973. The address was 2104 Drake Drive. The family lived there until
1980.
July 1973, Jerry, an Episcopalian, was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Richardson, Dallas County, Texas. The family
attended Epiphany throughout the children's college years. Jerry and Sue continued there until the 1990's.
Jerry was employed at Triton Oil & Gas Corporation as Senior Geophysicist in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas from 1973/74. Jerry
was hired to work the United States and overseas. A major project was the review of Triton's prior work in the Sulu Sea in the Philippines.
His new interpretation resulted in a trip to Manila. After a few months Jerry realized that Triton did not have funding for exploration
work at that time and he began to listen to other employment opportunities in Dallas.
Jerry was employed at Enserch Exploration, Inc. as a 'jack-of-all-trades" in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas circa 1974. Jerry
described his tenure at Enserch as the best and worst of his career. Originally hired as a Senior International Geologist he rapidly
established himself as a manager being named as Exploration Manager and then Director of Exploration for South America, Canada, and Alaska.
During this time he learned and did more in the oil industry than at any other time. He would spend one day splicing seismograms together
in his office and the next day negotiating an exploration agreement in Brazil, Guatemala, or Bolivia with cabinet status officials.
In 1977 he was transferred to the domestic exploration division as Director of Evaluations and Analysis, beginning the most
miserable time of his career. The work was great as he created a new department responsible for evaluating every exploration project the
company undertook. The bad news was that the President of the company imposed his services on a vice president of the company. This was
not a friendly relationship. In 1979 Jerry was made Director of Evaluation and Mineral Resources reporting to the president
with respect to Mineral Resources. The addition of Mineral Resources provided an operational outlet for Jerry's talents. He sold, at
substantial profit, the company's East Texas Coal reserves. In addition he had brought the company's South Texas uranium reserves to a
developmentalstatus. Then "Three Mile Island" happened. The uranium market collapsed and the project died. Enserch took an option to
purchase a gold mine in Alaska and Jerry conducted the operation until the project was evaluated. Faced with returning to full time service
to a vice president was not a wonderful idea. Jerry began to think about a job change. He left the company in 1981.
Jerry, as William Scott Fillebrown's father, was present at his confirmation February 18, 1979 in Richardson, Dallas
County, Texas. The Confirmation took place at the Church of the Epiphany. Bishop Davies presided.
Jerry resided in Garland, Dallas County, Texas circa 1980. The address was 7204 Vista Ridge Court. During this time Laura
lived here while attending Texas Tech then she married and moved to her own home in Lubbock. Pam never really lived here as she had already
gone away to college. Chris called this home for part of the time he was at Texas Tech and Southern Methodist University but he moved in
and out for a few years while working in the theater. Jerry and Sue moved in 1986.
Jerry was employed at Holly Energy, Inc. as Chief Geophysicist in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas circa 1981. Jerry accepted this
technical position to renew his status as a geophysicist. The company had several offices and he had an oversight of all geophysical
projects and was the active geophysicist on many. The company decided to liquidate its exploration holdings in 1983 and Jerry found himself
out of work. The decision to return to geophysics had been a good one. The door to consulting was opened.
Jerry attended the funeral of Ruth Nora Fillebrown at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home in Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma
June 25, 1983. The funeral service took place at Enid Cemetery at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Arnold Roberts officiating. The service was under
the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
Jerry was employed at several companies as a geophysical consultant in Richardson, Dallas County, Texas circa 1983. Jerry's
experience made him needed by the industry until it collapsed in 1985. During this time Jerry developed a specialty exploring for
stratigraphic traps. In 1989 this expertise led to his reemployment full time in the industry.
Jerry was employed at his own and other companies as a Real Estate Broker in Richardson, Dallas County, Texas circa 1983. When
the oil industry began to hurt in 1983 Jerry decided to look at all of his resources and took a real estate exam. He passed and began to
sell part time with Century 21 REALTORS in Richardson. After a 2-year waiting period he took the Broker's exam and passed it. The company
sold to Murray REALTORS and Jerry continued to work for them. In 1986 after most geophysical consulting ended Jerry purchased
Kaufman-Shiner REALTORS, Inc., a small business, thereby jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Real Estate was soon to die also. The
good news was that KSR had a property management business that provided a good financial floor. Jerry and Sue managed to survive this period
and then sold the business in 1989.
Jerry, as the father of the bride, attended Laura Anne Fillebrown and Michael Louis Precht's wedding September 3, 1983 in
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas. The marriage service was performed by Mike's father. It took place at Christ Lutheran Church at
7:00 pm. The pastors included Ronald L. Jenkins, the local minister, Mike's father, Fred, and Mike's brother, Steve. The ceremony was
followed by a reception at Tara near 4th and Slide Road.
Jerry, as the father of the bride, attended Dr. Pamela Renee Fillebrown MD and Taylor Scott Davis' wedding December 28,
1985 in Richardson, Dallas County, Texas. The marriage took place at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Richardson, Texas. The
service was formal with Eucharist following. Her brother Scott was the Thurifer for the Mass. After the Church service a reception was
held in the Parish Hall with dance music provided by Phares Corder. The Rev. Stephen White presided over the ceremony.
Jerry resided in Richardson, Dallas County, Texas May 8, 1987. The address was 1618 Auburn Drive. This was the family home
until August 15, 1991. Times were tough when this house was purchased through a trade for the large house on Vista Ridge Court. The good
news was that the equity in that house made this house free and clear, smaller, but all Jerry's and Sue's. Scott was the only child still
at home finishing his studies at the University of Texas at Dallas. He moved to purchase his own house in 1989.
Jerry was a witness at Christopher Allen Cogburn and Tracy Dour's wedding January 9, 1988 in Montgomery, Montgomery
County, Alabama. Jerry was employed at Hunt Oil Company as Senior Geophysicist in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas circa
1989. A consulting contract in the summer of 1989 turned into a return to full employment in the oil industry in December 1989. Jerry
worked on projects in Canada, the Philippines, Laos, Ethiopia, and the United States. During his tenure he introduced Hunt to new
techniques for stratigraphic trap exploration. Hunt Oil Company provided Jerry with more technical freedom and support than he had ever
experienced. Ray Hunt liked the old Texas Ranger theory "one riot only needs one Ranger". As a result geophysicists were able to run
their projects with a minimum of supervision. Management changes and frustrations about controversial management decisions caused Jerry to
seek early retirement.
This was a trip to remember. In November 1990 Jerry was seconded to Addis Ababa as temporary Exploration Manager to open an Exploration
Office for Ethiopian Hunt Oil, a subsidiary of Hunt Oil Company. Hunt was the first American Oil company to establish a Service Contract
with the Ethiopian Government near the end of the regime of Mengistu Haile Mariam. Jerry opened a temporary office and living quarters in
the Hilton Addis Ababa hotel where Sue was able to join him in January 1991 just after the first days of the Iraq War. At the end of
Jerry's duties in Addis Ababa Sue and Jerry went to China with a group of expatriates and spent about 2 weeks there prior to returning to
Addis Ababa for 10 days prior to returning to Richardson. Jerry's duties including finding and opening an office on Bole Road, gathering and
provisioning a geological field trip, negotiating with government officials, meeting with soon to leave Russian oil exploration personnel as
well at the many tasks required to open a business in a foreign country. Jerry and Sue returned home in April 1991 and during their last
night in the hotel woke to the sound of distant cannons being fired by rebels that would eventually cause the downfall of Mengistu.
Jerry resided in Richardson, Dallas County, Texas August 15, 1991. The address was 641 Harvest Glen Drive. Finances improved
after 18 months with Hunt Oil Company and a 5-month overseas assignment in Ethiopia. Sue and Jerry decided to move into a larger house with
an extra room instead of one that was one room smaller than they wanted. It was an ideal retirement house with a study for Jerry and Sue, a
bedroom for grandchildren, and a spare bedroom for guests. At that time they anticipated living out their life in this house.
Jerry witnessed Charles Earl Fillebrown's death February 26, 1993 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. Charles died of lung
cancer and complications due to acute emphysema after an adult lifetime of smoking. He died at Walnut Place Rest Home, Dallas.
Charles Jerry Fillebrown attended the funeral of Charles Earl Fillebrown at Restland Chapel in Richardson, Dallas County,
Texas March 1, 1993. Jerry witnessed Charles Earl Fillebrown's burial March 2, 1993 in Enid, Garfield County,
Oklahoma. Charles' wife Ruth was buried beside him in August 1993. The grave-site is near several Fillebrown and Ferrill plots at
Enid Cemetery. The location is lot 51 block 10 second addition first grave from the south.
Jerry witnessed Ruth Dora Ferrill's death August 18, 1993 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. In the weeks before her death
she had some pleasure visiting with her great grandchildren Greg Precht and Elizabeth Precht. Just before her death she was visited by her
other great granddaughters Sarah Davis and Suzanne Davis. Suzanne was a few days old at the time. She died of metestasized carcinoma of the
rectum at Walnut Place Rest Home, Dallas.
Charles Jerry Fillebrown attended the funeral of Ruth Dora Ferrill at Richland Chapel in Richardson, Dallas County, Texas
August 20, 1993. Charles Jerry Fillebrown witnessed Ruth Dora Ferrill's burial August 21, 1993 in Enid, Garfield County,
Oklahoma. Ruth was buried beside her husband, Charles, near other Fillebrown and Ferrill plots at Enid Cemetery. The location is
lot 51 block 10 second addition second grave from the south.
Jerry retired from Hunt Oil Company in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas May 31, 1994. Jerry had always hoped to retire by age 55
but by then was 58. The trials and tribulations of the oil industry in the 1980's had pretty well destroyed those dreams. In 1993 the
death of both parents caused Jerry to reflect on his job at Hunt and the desire to do genealogy before more contacts to the past were lost,
and life in general. The decision to take a chance and retire now came after lots of thought. Continued work would have been the smart
choice. The job paid well and he was physically fit. In spite of that the freedom of retirement caught his fancy and he did retire.
Jerry, as the father of the groom, attended Lee Ann Hoebing and William Scott Fillebrown's wedding June 25, 1994 in
Richardson, Collin County, Texas. The marriage took place in Owenby Park, a beautiful outdoor setting. The minister, the Rev. Lloyd
J. Uncell, was from the Church of Christ in Kingfisher, OK. Scott's niece Sarah Davis was the Flower Girl.
A visit to an ancestor's grave. On August 12, 1994 Charles Jerry Fillebrown, great-great grandson of William Cheever Fillebrown visited
William's and his daughter Sarah's grave-site at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe, Wisconsin. Both headstones were in very poor condition.
Jerry was accompanied by his wife Sue.
Jerry traveled to Thailand October 1994. Jerry, as the father of the groom, attended Lisa Ann Graffin and Charles
Christopher Fillebrown's wedding December 3, 1994 in Lewisville, Collin County, Texas. The ceremony took place at the Historic Round
Grove Church at six o'clock in the evening.
A visit to an ancestor's grave. On March 12, 1995 Charles Jerry Fillebrown and his wife Sue visited the burial site near Spur, Texas of
William Barger. Jerry is a great grandson of Will. This was the first visit by a descendent of Will Barger since Will's orphan children
were taken away shortly after his death in 1887. Dorles LaDelle Repass nee Perdue discovered the location of the grave in early 1995
A visit to an ancestor's grave. On June 2, 1995 Dorles LaDelle Perdue Repass, Selma Faye Houston Kuehl, Gregory Allen Precht, and Charles
Jerry Fillebrown visited the grave site of Frances Barger at the Old Eolian / Van Winkle Cemetery near Eolian, Stephens Co., TX. Dorles is a
great grand niece of Frances. Faye is a granddaughter of Frances. Greg is a 3rd great grandson of Frances. Jerry is a great grandson of
Frances. The cemetery was abandoned and in poor condition. The headstone for Frances Barger was broken and in need of repair. It was
decided that an attempt would be made to interest other family members in an effort to stabilize the grave-site so that further
deterioration would not occur.
A visit to an ancestor's grave. On June 3, 1995 the Tap Cemetery Association held its annual "Cemetery Working" to care for the grounds.
This time it was special for the descendants of Will Barger. About six months prior to this date Dorles Repass had accidentally found Will
Barger's story in a book about Dickens County. Thus for the first time in over 100 years the Barger descendants became aware of the
location of his body. Attending were Dorles Repass, greatniece of Will's wives Frances and Anna; Faye Kuehl, Jerry Fillebrown, and Greg
Precht -- granddaughter, great grandson, and 3 greats grandson of Will and Frances.
A gravestone erected. In 1995 a stone was placed on the grave-site of William Barger and his 2nd wife Anna McCorkle at the Tap Cemetery
near Spur, Texas. It also memorializes the burial of his first wife Frannie McCorkle sister of Anna, at the Old Eolian / Van Winkle
Cemetery near Breckenridge, TX. Contributors were Frances Adair, Ray Adair II, Buford Barger, Harold Barger, Lester Barger, Jerry
Fillebrown, Faye Kuehl, Louis Hobson, Mildred Hobson, and Dorles Repass.

honoring William Barger and his wives Frances McCorkle and Anna McCorkle at the Red Mud Cemetery in Spur, Texas with the following comments
after the annual meeting of the Cemetery Association: WILL BARGER FAMILY MEMORIAL
July 1, 1996 AT THE ANNUAL "CEMETERY WORKING"
FOR RED MUD_TAP CEMETERY IN SPUR, TEXAS I am here today at Red Mud-Tap Cemetery to dedicate a marker to the memory of William
Barger and his wives Frances McCorkle and Anna McCorkle who were sisters. Frances died January 8, 1884 and was buried at Old Eolian-Van
Winkle Cemetery near Breckenridge in Stephens County, Texas. She was 22 years old and died of tuberculosis. Will had 4 children by
Frances: Ira, Wilma Ann, Nora (my grandmother), and Archie Levia. He had 2 children by Anna: Stella and Oliver. All of these children
survived and had children. As of today I have discovered over 100 descendants of Will of whom at least 80 are living. I expect to find
many more. Faye Kuehl, daughter of Archie Levia Barger, hoped to move Frances to this cemetery. In honor of this wish yesterday I
collected dirt along with 5 stones from the grave site of Frances. Today I placed the dirt and stones in the shape of the cross on their
grave. This is to symbolize the rejoining of Will, Frances, and Anna in the Arms of Christ. The Lord be with you. Let us pray. Father we
thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us. We ask your continued blessing on those who are buried here and those
who honor their memory. Bless this marker and the other markers in this place as symbols of our love for our ancestors and other relatives
and your assurance that we all rest in your love. As I sprinkle this dirt from Frances' grave over that of Will and Anna we are reminded
Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust. May all who are buried here Rest in Peace. In Christ's name, Amen.

This is a bit of history. First Seal By Roy Boehm and Charles W. Sasser in 1997. Jerry Fillebrown was given the book in which Roy
Boehm provided a vivid description of his assignment to the USS Duncan and ultimately the loss of the Duncan in the "Battle of Cape
Esperance" off of Guadacanal October 12, 1942. Les Hobson, a 2nd cousin, had discovered the book and provided Jerry which so impressed with
the story that he exchanged emails with Roy Boehm. Friday, January 08, 1999 Dear Mr. Boehm, My Uncle, Chief Radioman Thornton
Barger Fillebrown, went down on the USS Duncan. Thornton had joined the ship as Chief Radioman on April 16, 1942. I was only 6 years old
when he died but he has always been etched in my mind as a hero. The vivid description of the battle and sinking of the Duncan renewed my
opinion of him and all of you who served in W.W.II. Thank you, Jerry Sunday, January 10, 1999 Dear Jerry, I knew your uncle
well. The Duncan went in commission April the 16th, Thorn called me Bo my nickname in those days and I called him Chief; Thorn behind his
back. We, who served in the Duncan were a family and that was from the skipper all the way down to my level. There just wasn't too many any
lower in rate than I - when we went aboard the ship. Be proud of his memory because the radio room gang stuck to their stations until the
very end in what turned out to be one hell of a battle! Your uncle was every bit the hero that you and I remember him to be. Roy Boehm

This is a bit of history. Account of the Trial of Charles Parker Fillebrown (1891) By Charles Jerry Fillebrown
Family stories were told time and time again as I grew up. My grandfather, Charles Parker Fillebrown, died when I was 9 years
old but I remember him well and had always thought of him as a sedate and gentle man. After his death I heard that he had, in his youth, a
fight defending his sister's (Aunt Mattie) reputation. This never seemed like a big deal and just sounded like an interesting but
meaningless anecdote in his youth. No one ever spoke about the details of the fight and it never seemed important. I started
doing genealogy after my retirement in the early 1990's after my parents had passed away. I was left to ferret out stories from public
records about births, marriages, deaths, and etc. like most genealogists. My wife, Sue, and I liked to travel in our camper and used my
genealogical work as an excuse to tour the U.S. locating the graves, homesteads, and places visited by my ancestors. I knew by
1998 that Parker's parents, John Milton Fillebrown and his wife Ellen M. Bridge had lived in Wyoming. Ellen had died there in 1891 and was
buried in Cheyenne at the Cheyenne Cemetery. I didn't know where Parker was at that time so we scheduled a trip to Cheyenne to visit
Ellen's grave and the local library. We arrived in Cheyenne the evening of September 15, 1998 and the next day was spent in the public
library In the library's books and microfilm collection I discovered that John Milton Fillebrown was the Postmaster in nearby
Silver Crown, Wyoming in 1891 and also owned and operated a ranch. But I still didn't find information about Parker. After an afternoon
and morning I was ready to leave the library and Cheyenne to carry on with our trip. A librarian approached me and suggested that I look at
a little used card file for more information before I left. After another 30 minutes or so I found a reference to an obituary for Ellen in
a local paper. I already had an obituary from another paper from past research and was about to ignore it but the librarian quickly found
the referenced microfilm of the paper and loaded it on the reader before I could protest that it wasn't needed. Here's what I
found from the Cheyenne Daily Leader, Wednesday, October 21, 1891. Death of Mrs. Fillebrown "Ellen M. wife of J. M.
Fillebrown died at 5 o'clock Monday evening at the ranch near Table Mountain. She was taken sick just two weeks ago. Her case was not
considered at all serious even last Wednesday when a doctor was sent for. She was found to be suffering from inflammation of the stomach.
By Sunday her case was esteemed very dangerous and from that time on she failed rapidly. The funeral will take place at 3 o'clock this
afternoon. Services will be conducted this afternoon. Services will be conducted at the cemetery by Rev. Mr. Wier of Methodist Church.
Mrs. Fillebrown was born in Wisconsin in 1844 and was 47 years old at the time of her death. She was very much esteemed at the time of her
death." Well nothing new there.... and then I read the last sentence. "She was the mother of Parker Fillebrown whose case recently
occupied the attention of the courts." What, Parker occupied the attention of the courts? Well at least I had found a clue that he was in
the area at the time. So, back I went to the librarian for more help. It was lunch time and she was going to take a break but if I wanted
to go to lunch she'd start checking. Sue was at the trailer park getting ready for us to move out and I had to go get her anyway so I said
I'd be back after lunch. We ate lunch, finished packing the trailer, hitched up, and returned to the library to see what had been found
before leaving the area. Back at the library the librarian advised me that she had good news and bad news. She found a file and it wasn't a
misdemeanor, it was a felony, and the file was empty. But, she had ordered more material from the archives where the archivist had assured
her that we'd find an answer. The material finally arrived from the archives but the material was very limited and just referred to the
specific court. As I recall it had a date that pointed me back to the newspaper microfilms to search for an event. An afternoon with Sue
and me searching miles of film resulted in a series of articles attached to Charles Parker Fillebrown uner his name in this family history..

will stay with us always. Good by is not forever.", was the theme of the event. The class flower was the Stargazer Lily and the class
colors were Silver and Gold. Celebrating the event with Sarah were her parents Pam and Taylor, sister, Suzanne, and grandparents Jerry and

This is a bit of history. The photograph shown above was given by Nora Fillebrown nee Barger to her brother, Oliver in 1902 with an
inscription on the back "Happy New Year 1902, Nora". It was changed later to "Aunt Nora Fillebrown" by Oliver's son Lester Barger.
Lester gave the photograph to Jerry Fillebrown November 4, 1998. Nora was wearing a Pendant watch that was given to her
daughter-in-law, Ruth Fillebrown nee Ferrill in 1951. When Ruth passed in 1993 it was given to Ruth's daughter-in-law Suzanne Fillebrown
nee Akkerman. The watch has an inscription "J.M.F. to N.B.F.1908 to R.D.F.1951" which was added when Ruth received it. (The
date "1908" was an error). J.M.F. was John Milton Fillebrown, Nora's future father-in-law.
A relative visited. This is a bit of history. 2003/07/03 by Bob Fillebrown This is Robert Blake Fillebrown of Nashua, NH. I
attended a meeting for my company at the Mohegan Sun casino in CT last week. When I entered the meeting room a lady approached telling me
how happy and excited she was to meet me. Of course, never meeting her before, I was taken by surprise. She told me she was a Fillebrown!
Her name is Judy Stiles (Baltimore/Washington D.C. area). Her grandmother was a Fillebrown. I don't have my notes with me, I can't recall
her first name but she was a "Douglas Fillebrown" born around 1895. Sorry for the sketchy details, I'll look at my notes and even call her
for more information unless you have already "connected" her. I'm sure she'd enjoy talking with you. If you'd like I'll give her your
email address. (Note: I never received the email address) 2011/07/07 Jerry left voice mails for several "Judy Stiles" in the D.C.
and environs after stumbling into the old email.. 2011/07/08 by Judy I got your voice mail, and I am a descendant of the Fillebrown
family. I took a look around your website; you have done some impressive research! I come by the Fillebrown name from my paternal
grandmother; Ellen Douglas Fillebrown is her maiden name, with Stiles being added on when she married my grandfather in the mid 1920's.
Ellen's (I called her Granny) first born son is John Stiles, my father. I am the third child of John Stiles. There is a fun family story
when I was born. My parents were building a new home, and sold the current one and found the need for a place to live while the new home
was being finished. So we all moved into Granny's house. Granny promptly moved out, to go visit a cousin in Texas. I do not know who she
visited, but the Texas connection to your location might be significant. I am very interested to learn what you might know about the family.
2011/07/09 by Jerry So you'll know why I tried I'm copying a note I received July 3. 2003 from Bob Fillebrown:
"This is Robert Blake Fillebrown of Nashua, NH. I attended a meeting for my company at the Mohegan Sun casino in CT last week. When I
entered the meeting room a lady approached telling me how happy and excited she was to meet me. Of course, never meeting her before, I was

enjoy talking with you. If you'd like I'll give her your email address." Bob never sent the email address but I tried to figure this out
several times over the years. I recently talked to Bob and he said he no longer had a clue. So I decided to try one more time the other
day. Searched Facebook (too many) and then Switchboard.com. Bingo! A few in the general area of "Baltimore/Washington D.C. area" so I
called them all. The others probably think I'm a nut! I'll have questions to fill in the blanks from you and your siblings soon but in the
meantime you and I are 4th cousins once removed our common ancestors being the Hon. Thomas Fillebrown and Elizabeth Cheever. I am 5th
generation and you are 6th generation. 2011/08/20 by Jerry to Bob and Judy Well your email from July 2003 finally paid off. I've
managed to find the correct Judy. You and she are 8th cousins twice removed your common ancestors being Thomas Fillebrown and Anna Cole the
1st Fillebrown family in America. Bob you are 11th generation and Judy you are 9th generation. To remind you both this is the 2003 note
that you sent me: "This is Robert Blake Fillebrown of Nashua, NH. I attended a meeting for my company at the Mohegan Sun casino in CT
last week. When I entered the meeting room a lady approached telling me how happy and excited she was to meet me. Of course, never meeting

but some recent detective work by me (I called 4 or 5 "Judy Stiles" in the MD/DC area) and we are now corresponding. If either or both of
you can recall anything about the original meeting I'd like to add a short note about the chance meeting e.g. did you work for same company
or was is a technical conference, etc. Thanks to both of you for your interest and help with my genealogical efforts.
