"As a child growing up on a North Plympton farm in the horse and buggy era, it would have been impossible for the young Elisabeth Dennett (ne Fillebrown), to imagine she would one day serve as hostess of her own cable television show, but the youthful-looking, energetic 86-year-old has recently done just that." "An outgrowth of her popular program for the Plympton Historical Society, 'An Armchair Tour of Plympton,' the televised version features Mrs' Dennett's thumbnail sketches of several dozen of the town's historical homes." "Mrs. Dennett is matter-of-fact about her encyclopedic knowledge of the town, stating simply, 'I'm a good listener.' She also credits her retention of so much information to the fact that she has stayed so close to home all her life." "An appreciation for oral history and tradition was instilled in Elisabeth at an early age by her parents, particularly her mother, who was the third generation of her family to live in the Harrub's Corner house where Elisabeth grew up and where she continues to reside for part of the year." "The house, as she will tell you, was built between 1687 and 1689 by Isaac King who came over from England to buy lumber and ended up staying.
