John Bean⁹ Fillebrown (James⁸, James⁷, James⁶, Thomas⁵, Thomas⁴, Thomas³, Humpfrey² Phillibrowne, Robert¹ ffilebrowne)⁽⁷⁰³⁹⁾ was born in Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine June 20, 1820.⁽⁷⁰⁴⁰⁾ John died January 15, 1889 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine, at 68 years of age.⁽⁷⁰⁴¹⁾ His body was interred January 1889 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine.⁽⁷⁰⁴²⁾ He was buried by the Knight Templars of Portland.

John married Sarah H. C. Bearse November 25, 1841 in Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine.⁽⁷⁰⁴³⁾ Sarah⁽⁷⁰⁴⁴⁾ was the daughter of Dexter Bearse and Salome Chandler. Sarah died March 6, 1890 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine, at 69 years of age.⁽⁷⁰⁴⁵⁾ Sarah, Dexter Bearse's child, resided with Dexter in North Gloucester, Cumberland County, Maine circa 1840.⁽⁷⁰⁴⁶⁾ When Sarah was age 21 and John Bean Fillebrown was age 22 they became the parents of Miranda Jane Fillebrown August 22, 1842 in Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine.⁽⁷⁰⁴⁷⁾ When Sarah was age 25 and John Bean Fillebrown was age 26 they became the parents of John Holman Fillebrown September 15, 1846 in Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine.⁽⁷⁰⁴⁸⁾ Sarah, as John's wife, resided with him in Readfield Corner, Kennebec County, Maine before 1849.⁽⁷⁰⁴⁹⁾ The family lived "in the one-story house, the former home of his grandfather, James."

When John was age 22 and Sarah H. C. Bearse was age 21 they became the parents of Miranda Jane Fillebrown August 22, 1842 in Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine.⁽⁷⁰⁵²⁾ When John was age 26 and Sarah H. C. Bearse was age 25 they became the parents of John Holman Fillebrown September 15, 1846 in Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine.⁽⁷⁰⁵³⁾ John resided in Readfield Corner, Kennebec County, Maine before 1849.⁽⁷⁰⁵⁴⁾ The family lived "in the one-story house, the former home of his grandfather, James."

John resided in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine after 1849.⁽⁷⁰⁵⁵⁾ John was employed at his own business as an owner and operator in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine after 1849.⁽⁷⁰⁵⁶⁾ "He pursued a wholesale business in flour, produce, etc." The business was located at 204 Fore Street. After 1853 his brother, James Sullivan Fillebrwon may ahve been a partner.

When John was age 42 and Sarah H. C. Bearse was age 41 they became the parents of Mary Lelia Fillebrown October 30, 1862 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine.⁽⁷⁰⁵⁷⁾ John was a member of the Masons in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine.⁽⁷⁰⁵⁸⁾

John Bean Fillebrown and Sarah H. C. Bearse had the following children:
