Anna married Nathaniel Blanchard Buxton February 27, 1864.(6548) Nathaniel was born February 11, 1832 in Albion, Kennebec County, Maine.(6549) Nathaniel(6550) was the son of Alexander Buxton and Christina Blanchard. Nathaniel died June 25, 1900 in Newtonville, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at 68 years of age.(6551) His body was interred circa 1900 in East Winthrop, Kennebec County, Maine. Nathaniel was employed at a general country store as a storekeeper in Fayette, Kennebec County, Maine before 1864.(6552) He kept the store before his marriage date and for several years after that.

When Nathaniel was age 33 and Anna Almira Fillebrown was age 34 they became the parents of Alexander Bowdoin Buxton August 5, 1865 in Fayette, Kennebec County, Maine.(6554) When Nathaniel was age 34 and Anna Almira Fillebrown was age 35 they became the parents of Nathaniel Blanchard Buxton November 6, 1866 in Winthrop, Kennebec County, Maine.(6555) It is probable that he was born at the home of Anna's parents as other information indicates that the family actually lived in Fayette, ME at this time.

Nathaniel resided in Orono, Penobscot County, Maine circa 1872.(6556) Nathaniel was employed at Basin Mills Co. as Manager in Orono, Penobscot County, Maine circa 1872.(6557) He managed the corporation store.

When Nathaniel was age 40 and Anna Almira Fillebrown was age 41 they became the parents of Almira Christiana Buxton October 2, 1872 in Orono, Penobscot County, Maine.(6558) Nathaniel resided in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine. Nathaniel was employed at Buxton & Jennison as a partner in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine circa 1873.(6559) He and his brother-in-law were partners in the wholesale flour and grain business.

Nathaniel was employed at Carrabassett Saw & Grist Mills as an owner in North Anson, Somerset County, Maine circa 1873.(6560) He bought the firm in 1873 and ran it for eleven years.

Nathaniel resided in North Anson, Somerset County, Maine circa 1874.(6561) The home was there until at least 1884.

Nathaniel was employed in the real estate business as a businessman in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa date unknown.(6562) This was his last employment before he returned in 1900 to Newtonville. He was in Sioux City for "several years". It appears that he and his family were separated during this time.

Nathaniel resided in Newtonville, Middlesex County, Massachusetts circa 1885.(6563) Upon the death of her husband, in 1886, Almira Butler Fillebrown lived for a year with her daughter Anna Almira Fillebrown Buxton. The record is unclear as to the residence of the senior Nathaniel Blanchard for several years prior to 1900. He operated a business in Sioux City, Iowa although Anna apparently stayed in Newtonville. He returned to Newtonville on account of failing health shortly before his death in 1990. It appears that Anna stayed in Newtonville to care for her invalid daughter.

Anna was listed on the Hallowell Academy roll as a student in Hallowell, Kennebec County, Maine date unknown.(6564) "Her education was confined to the district school, and to brief attendance at the Hallowell Academy."

Anna, James Bowdoin Fillebrown's child, resided with James in Winthrop, Kennebec County, Maine circa 1845.(6565) The record isn't clear but it seems that James lived continuously on the family farm, although he and his wife did purchase his father's old home in Hallowell. By 1845 it is clear that James and the family are living on the farm and that it was their home until 1864 when they moved into Winthrop. James Bowdoin Fillebrown wrote in his journal after opening a dental office in Winthrop Village "Dec. 1848 I continued living still on the farm and carrying it on by help of my two boys, Thomas and Charles B., and hired hand, riding up in the morning and back at night, taking my dinner at the hotel."

Anna was ill circa 1857/58. These years "were practically lost to her through protracted illness."

"She grew to womanhood in the presence of what to this generation (1910) would seem like pinching poverty. She was always rich is aspirations and in friends, and constant in her endeavor to give happiness to others..... All in all she was a noble woman, well endowed. Less adversely circumstanced she would have adorned a palace. Her family cherished her, and her children called her blessed."

Alexander Bowdoin9 Buxton(6573) was born in Fayette, Kennebec County, Maine August 5, 1865.(6574) Alexander died October 31, 1866 in Winthrop, Kennebec County, Maine, at 1 year of age.(6575) It is not clear why this death occurred in Winthrop but perhaps his mother was there with her parents pending the birth of her second child. His body was interred circa 1866 in East Winthrop, Kennebec County, Maine.(6576) Burial was in the Thomas Fillebrown family plot in East Winthrop Cemetery.

A visit to an ancestor's grave.(6577) Charles Jerry Fillebrown and his wife Sue visited the burial place, in East Winthrop, Maine, of Jerry's 3rd great grandparents Thomas Fillebrown, Elizabeth Cheever, and some of their family on July 13, 1997. The grave was decorated with an American Flag and a plaque identifying him as a Soldier of the American Revolution. Also buried there are: Thomas' 2nd wife Sally Cushing; Emily, George, Henry, and James children of Thomas and Elizabeth; John Fillebrown grandnephew of Thomas Fillebrown; Almira Butler wife of James; and Allie B. Buxton great grandson of Thomas and Elizabeth.
