Nelson died May 2, 1914 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, at 63 years of age.⁽⁸⁵⁰¹⁾ His body was interred circa 1914 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut.⁽⁸⁵⁰²⁾

He married three times. Nelson married Kittie Brainard Cone April 4, 1882.⁽⁸⁵⁰³⁾ Kittie was born January 26, 1856 in East Haddam, Middlesex County, Connnecticut.⁽⁸⁵⁰⁴⁾ Kittie⁽⁸⁵⁰⁵⁾ was the daughter of Hezekiah Selden Cone and Catherine Brainard Watson. Kittie died December 6, 1887 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, at 31 years of age.⁽⁸⁵⁰⁶⁾ When Kittie was age 28 and Nelson O. Fillebrown was age 33 they became the parents of George Nelson Fillebrown July 22, 1884 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut.⁽⁸⁵⁰⁷⁾ Nelson married Frances Blinkhorn circa 1889.⁽⁸⁵⁰⁸⁾ Frances was born April 12, 1859 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.⁽⁸⁵⁰⁹⁾ Frances⁽⁸⁵¹⁰⁾ was the daughter of Thomas John Blinkhorn and Ellen Maria O'Conner. Frances died December 7, 1898 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, at 39 years of age.⁽⁸⁵¹¹⁾ Her body was interred December 1898 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.⁽⁸⁵¹²⁾ Burial was in the Second Calvary Cemetery.

When Frances was age 30 and Nelson O. Fillebrown was age 38 they became the parents of Vincent Frederick Fillebrown October 28, 1889 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.⁽⁸⁵¹³⁾ Nelson married Third (________) after 1900.⁽⁸⁵¹⁴⁾ Nelson was a widower on the 1900 US Population Census. Lottie was born August 18, 1881.⁽⁸⁵²⁸⁾ Lottie⁽⁸⁵²⁹⁾ was the daughter of Unknown Potts and Unknown (________). Lottie died December 1975 at 94 years of age.⁽⁸⁵³⁰⁾ Lottie, as George's wife, resided with him in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut circa 1964.⁽⁸⁵³¹⁾ Lottie resided in Connecticut circa 1975.⁽⁸⁵³²⁾
