Rudolphus died November 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, Norfolk (now Suffolk) County, Massachusetts, at 80 years of age.⁽⁴¹⁴⁸⁾ He died of "paralysis" on Thanksgiving Day. His body was interred circa 1882 in Belgrade, Kennebec County, Maine.⁽⁴¹⁴⁹⁾ Burial was at Woodside Cemetery.

Conflicting evidence states that Rudolphus was born March 7, 1802 in North Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.⁽⁴¹⁶³⁾ Rudolphus, James Fillebrown's child, resided with James in Readfield, Lincoln County, Massachusetts (now Maine) circa 1808.⁽⁴¹⁶⁴⁾ James and Abiah resided there the rest of their lives. The home still stood in 1910 being located near the southwest corner of the crossing of the main street in Readfield, on the south side of the Kent's Hill Road.

Rudolphus was employed at many places as a blacksmith in Mt. Jerry and Rudolphus are 4th cousins 3 times removed through Thomas and Anna Fillebrown the first Fillebrown family in America.
